Admission Requirements

Orca Institute is committed to enrolling students who meet all of our program admission criteria and who are likely to succeed in meeting their education and career goals. Students seeking to enroll in one of our programs shall communicate with our Admission Representative. The Representative will evaluate educational and employment background as well as written, verbal and communication skills.

Admission Requirements for Fitness Leadership Diploma Program

Minimum 19 years old, if under 19 – high school diploma or grade 12 equivalent with certificate, entrance test score of 65% or higher.

Admission Requirements for Applied Nutrition Science Program

Minimum 19 years old, if under 19 – high school diploma or grade 12 equivalent with certificate, entrance test score of 65% or higher.

Admission Requirements for Social Service Program

19 years of age OR High School Diploma or equivalent (GED), 20 hours of volunteer and/or work experience in the field, two years’ abstinence if in recovery, criminal records check (unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults), interview with college staff to assess suitability (Physician letter may be required), entrance exam with a minimum passing score of 70%, practicum hosts may have additional requirements.

Admission Requirements for Counseling Hypnotherapy (Basic)

Age 19 or over, emotional stability.

Admission Requirements for Counseling Hypnotherapy Diploma

No academic pre-requisites, emotional stability, age 19 or over.

English as a Second Language

Legally able to study in Canada. Completed high school or being a mature student over 19 years old.

There are a wide variety of funding options available to students and Orca Institute’s experienced admissions counsellors will be able to assist you in planning to fund your education. Planning for your education will ensure a stress free learning experience.

Government Financial Aid

Provincial and Federal Student Loans & Grants

Government Financial assistance is available for eligible students who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants, through the Canadian and provincial government student loan programs. Orca Institute may assist prospective students to apply for Provincial & Federal student loans.
